Trubicars Air Brake Course is designed to be delivered using a Tell- Show – Do method of instruction to maximize hands-on learning.
The presentation slides will cover all the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) requirements and provide illustrations of all the required topics. Designed with adult learners in mind, the course will stimulate discussion within the class so that everyone’s experiences can be shared.
Videos help to illustrate key components.
In the vehicle, driving instructors will be able to demonstrate the different aspects of an air brake system and how they work and the students will be able to then perform these same demonstrations back. This demonstration will help you to prepare for the Drivetest airbrake test.
Course Description
The 12-hour course is divided into theory and practical. Theory is delivered in a classroom by an experienced instructor using presentation slides and MTO required brake and air brake demonstrators. The instructor will then show the group how the air brake systems work and where each component is located. From there they will go over inspection and testing procedures, which the students will eventually perform themselves in a pre-trip check.
