Dan’s Driving School provides online and in-class courses for Beginner Driver Education (BDE) approved by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. The BDE program offers flexible online learning, enabling students to complete their traditional in-class training using various connected devices from any location. The online course consists of 20 hours of instruction and 10 hours of homework, covering a wide range of topics, including:
– Defensive driving principles
– Cooperative driving concepts
– Handling emergency situations and maneuvers
– Developing visual awareness skills
– Techniques for skid prevention and control
– Understanding traffic laws
– Managing distractions and inattention
– Effective collision prevention strategies
– And more
Additionally, the course includes 10 hours of in-car instruction on a one-to-one basis, allowing students to choose a convenient schedule. During the lessons, the instructor assesses individual needs and provides personalized recommendations to minimize risks and enhance driving skills. The instruction culminates with a simulated MTO road test, assessing preparedness.
To obtain a Drivers License History for insurance purposes, all components of the BDE program must be successfully completed within 12 months from the start of the course. Successful completion requires achieving a grade of 75% or higher in the course and the in-vehicle driving evaluation. Failure to finish within the specified timeframe results in forfeiture of any unfinished course elements and previously paid fees. The Ministry of Transportation will only issue a Drivers License History for insurance purposes upon successful completion of the BDE course within one year.
