The questions on the test are all based on information from the Ontario Driver’s handbook. This means that all the information that you need in order to be successful is written in the Ontario Driver’s handbook; for this reason, it is highly recommended that you purchase a copy in order to study from for your written knowledge test. In order to take the test, you must pay a fee of $158.25 which includes a vision test alongside the written test. This $158.25 fee also includes you G2 driving test. If you are fearful that you won’t pass your first time, you are able to complete additional attempts for an additional fee of $15.75 per extra attempt.Ontario’s licensing system is a graduated licensing system, meaning you must meet the requirements of each level in order to advance to the next one. This graduated licensing system takes about two years to complete until you can reach a fully unrestricted license. Most people begin the process with a G1 license at 16 years of age. You must hold a G1 license for 8 months to a year. If you enrol in a beginner drivers education program you can become eligible to complete your G2 test 8 months after getting your G1. Your G1 license allows you to practice your driving skills and habits under the supervision of a fully licensed G driver.
